James
L. Hyer, Esq. is an attorney admitted to the bar of the State of New York,
practicing full-time in the New York City region. Prior to practicing law,
James coordinated a fair housing project for a not-for-profit in
collaboration with the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York Attorney
General’s Office geared toward investigating, locating and prosecuting
fair housing discrimination. In this position James was successful in
assisting in identifying numerous real estate agencies engaged in pattern
and practice housing discrimination. James also worked as the Director of
Constituent Services for Congressman Benjamin A. Gilman, where he was
responsible for the management of district staff, coordinating constituent
services programs and assisting with policy matters. James is currently
and Adjunct Professor at Ramapo College of New Jersey where he has taught
courses in political science and public policy. James has also published
articles on policy and land use. James is actively involved in community
service in the State of New York and has been recognized for his community
service my organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, American
Legion, Rockland County Crime Prevention Bureau, Town of Ramapo Auxiliary
Police Department, TOUCH of Rockland, and others. James graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey
with a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy and Pace University
School of Law with a J.D. and Environmental Law Certificate.

Stead – Deputy Project Director
Mr.
Stead is a widely renowned author and speaker on matters of environmental
and social justice issues. He has worked as an environmental educator with
Nyack School District, Ramapo School District, Nature Place Day Camp, and
offered numerous programs in ecology studies throughout the States of New
York and New Jersey. His field work in the area of ecology studies has
contributed to the Department of Environmental Conservation enforcement of
regulations in respect to hazardous remediation within the lower Hudson
Valley and Northern New Jersey region. In the 1990s he produced a local
cable television programming that offered public access to policy input
matters of environmental health and community education. Mr. Stead has
remained active in numerous community groups, including the Rockland
County Conservation Association where he currently holds the position of
Vice President. Mr. Stead has also remained an Adjunct Professor at Ramapo
College of New Jersey, teaching a wide-range of classes focused upon
policy and the environment. Currently, Mr. Stead is working with the
Ramapo Mountain Indians on a study of toxic impact on their community,
while writing a new book regarding local culture and policy. Mr. Stead
holds a Masters Degree in Social Policy from Empire State College, as well
as advanced studies at the Institute of Social Ecology (Goddard College,
VT).
