While in the Bay Area in June, 2006, Prof. Bowling spent an afternoon with Loren Mayshark, who is caddying among other things & living close to the Haight Ashbury intersection that the 1960s hippies made famous.

Steve DeLuca
, pictured above with his wife Colleen DeLuca, checked in from Minnesota, where he is now working for BestBuy and helping raise their two sons.  Steve was the 1991 Recipient of the Howard Bloomquist Award....Jen Sykes Erday became the mother of her third son, Matthew John Erday, joining Timothy & James.  They, along with her husband Tim, are living in Summit, N.J...Jim Brady & Tricia Mahoney Brady welcomed Ava Ryleigh Brady to the family on May 28th, 2006.  They are living in Huntington, Conn. with their other 3 children, Katie, Jimmy, & Grace Erin.  Jim also participated in the Bennett Cancer Center Walk & Run on June 6, 2006, benefiting Stamford Hospital.  He's still managing the Stamford Harbor Park....Look closely at that next box of stuff you bought at Bed, Bath, & Beyond.  That guy on the box looks an awful lot like Jim Seymour--and it is!  Besides his budding modeling career, James works in the Lighting & Furniture Division of BBB in Farmingdale, L.I.  He hosted L.B. down in his hometown of Freeport on Aug. 17th at Elliot's on the water, the best place down there, according to Luke Dorfman,. who ought to know.  This alumni gathering had a lacrosse flavor to it as Jimmy S. brought  along  Jim Clancy, 2005 recipient of the Gregg Reidy Memorial Award, and future history teacher Matt O'Brien, whose BA in History is set to be granted in January, 2007.  Clancy is working in sales in New Jersey...Andy Della Croce has relocated to sunny Los Angeles.  He is running the marketing for a Physical Therapy office and  also doing the PR and marketing a high-end gym; see www.phase-iv.net . .. 
Bill McGrath filed a lot of news.  He is practicing law  at The Law Office of Rosenbaum & Vollono, staff counsel for Liberty Mutual in Glastonbury, Conn.  He and his wife Jennifer McGrath, who were married in October, 2004, welcomed daughter Brenna Elizabeth McGrath into the world in December, 2005.  Bill comments:  "I plan on starting her Manhattanville fund in the next year"--good idea, Bill.  The McGraths in a house they bought in summer '06 in West Hartford...Michael D'Alora, 2006 recipient of the Gregg Reidy Memorial Award, parleyed his internship with Citigroup's Smith Barney into a full-time job in their Manhattan operation...Sean Bowen reports he is still residing in Port Chester, N.Y. with Drew Crowley & trying, with some success, to keep Drew out of trouble.  Sean took a new job in February, 2006 with AIG Financial Products as an associate in Foreign Exchange Trading...Lawrence Peretto & Prof. Bowling met up on July 11, 2006 in Valhalla at Southbound Bar-B-Que, of which Larence is part owner.  He is completing his Master's degree at the Bank Street Education School in Manhattan and continuing to serve as middle school science coordinator for the Mamaroneck, N.Y. school district.  But the really big news is that on July 3rd he became the proud father of his daughter  Olivia Peretto...

Above:  Michael Benziger, BA, History & Management, just after receiving his degree.  At 6'7", Mike is the tallest BA, History in Manhattanville College history.  After becoming the 18th player in MVILLE history to score over 1000 points in his career, he was named to the First Team, All-Skyline Conference, as well as the Third Team, All-Met Division III selection from the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association.  After graduation he took the Grand Tour in Europe before resettling in Los Angeles, where he works for the family company, The Benziger Family Winery of Sonoma County, California, where he grew up.  Check them out at www.benziger.com .  Mike's senior evaluation concerned the history of winemaking in California, and specifically the origins and development of his family's operation in Sonoma County.

Bob Kasmire, with Bobby Kasmire & Kayla Kasmire, at the 2006 History Alumni BBQ.  Bob, our 1992 Howard Bloomquist Award recipient, continues to work for Verizon Business, and played in the inaugural Gregg Reidy 3-on-3 tournament...The ever-modest John Danielski, the greatest player in Manhattanville basketball history, working on a Master's degree in elementary ed. at the University of New Haven, filed this interesting report about summer school, 2006:  "New Haven had me take that History course even though I was a History major.  It was just US History I.  Don't worry, I got an A in the course"  We were never worried, John.  As has become an annual custom, John & L.B. also took in the Penn/Yale basketball game in New Haven on March 3rd (good guys won)...Jim Barrett, 1990 recipient of the Howard Bloomquist Award, checked in from Stevens Point, Wisc.  He and his wife Cathy Barrett now have three chidlren: Celia, Joey, & Maggie, born in spring, 2006.  Jim is Director of Admissions for Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids.  He manages several departments in the position, in addition to the student data system PeopleSoft.  His continuing love of history is shown in his  part time  teaching of a World History class for Lakeland College in Sheboygan.  It is a blended class with an online and in-class component.  Jim comments, "While I am a techie at heart I still prefer the interaction that the classroom brings."  Hear, hear!...

Spring Break, 2006 found Manhattanville History guys in Florida, spreading the word about the world's greatest subject with the 2005 History T-shirt, "Feel the Power."  Above is History minor Antonio DeBarros and History majors Michael D'Alora, Francesco Notaristeafno, and Joe Ahlstrin.

Above:  Sarah Hall, another new BA, History, Class of 2006, at the Commencement Exercises on campus.  Sarah's senior evaluation thoroughly examined the long desegregation struggle in its various guises in American history between the years 1940 and 1965.
