Major/Minor Requirements

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS:
eleven courses PLUS a Senior Evaluation, for a total of 36 credits.
Of the eleven courses, one must be Asian, one African, one American, and one European.  No more than seven courses may come from any single geographical area of the world.  Of the eleven courses, two must be seminars.  [Many History majors, of course, take far more than the minimum number of courses outlined above.]

SENIOR EVALUATION
usually consists of a Senior Thesis, written under the direction of a faculty member.  Forms available from the Registrar's Office, Brownson Hall, are filled out, signed, and filed with the Registrar.  The Senior Evaluation may be completed in either the fall or spring semester of senior year.

MINOR REQUIREMENTS:
five courses, of which no more than two may be 1000-level.
Advanced Placement credit may count as one course of the five.
