McCormack Group Events 2012-2013

The 2012-2013 McCormack Program began on Wednesday, August 29th with an orientation meeting with the Class of 1016 followed by a Welcome Back dinner at a local restaurant. In addition to individual meetings throughout the semester with their program mentors, the scholars will have several opportunities to get together and share experiences with the McCormack alumni and who live in the New York area.

A perfect sunny, crisp fall day provided a perfect beginning for our traditional fall McCormack weekend outing. Four alumni and 10 current McCormack Scholars gathered at Spellman to board a bus for the two hour trip to Big Bear Ziplines. After a picnic lunch they were suited up with harnesses and helmets and headed out to the first of the 8 ziplines they would traverse in a beautiful wooded nature preserve near Hyde Park, NY. After returning to campus at 6:30 we continued on for dinner, charades, talk and laughter at one of their mentor’s home. Following Sunday morning brunch, it was back to campus to prepare for the academic week ahead. Other fall group events will include luncheon at the Castle with Dr. Elizabeth J. McCormack, a dinner with the Director and staff of the Center for Career Development and our annual Holiday Party.
