Selection Process
How are you selected to be a McCormack Scholar?

Applicants need not, indeed cannot, apply to be an Elizabeth J. McCormack Scholar. Those interested in further consideration may submit an essay to the Admissions Office addressing questions listed in the attached form. To download the Elizabeth McCormack essay questions, please click here.
Candidates for the Scholarship are selected from the pool of admitted students based on the recommendation of the Manhattanville Admissions Office. Each year, after reviewing the folders of all accepted students, the Admissions Office nominates a slate of candidates who meet the criteria established by the Elizabeth J. McCormack Scholarship Program.
Nominees are notified by the Admissions Office when they receive their letter of acceptance and are invited, at the Program’s expense, to come to campus for a required interview with the Program’s Selection Committee. Interviews take place in late March or early April. During the interview process, candidates have an opportunity to meet their future Manhattanville and McCormack Program advisors and learn more about the program.
Finalists are selected from amongst the nominees attending the interviews. Notification of their selection as a McCormack Scholar will be sent to the finalists and their college advisors within three days of the interviews. (click here for criteria)
