| Annemarie Bettica, Ph.D., Director of MNOP program, co-coordinator of Neuroscience
Program, and facilitator, is a graduate of Fordham University. Dr. Bettica's teaching
interests include cell/molecular biology, histology, neuroscience, and electron
microscopy. Dr. Betticas main focus is in cell/molecular neuroscience and has
conducted experiments on the integrity of the blood-brain barrier in vitro after
exposure to physiological/ pharmacological chemicals and the transformation of developing
neurons in culture. Dr. Bettica is also interested in the immunocytochemical localization
and characterization of intermediate filaments associated with pathological nervous
conditions.
Graduate members: Alums from previous years, MAT science students or second semester
student teachers interested in an independent project.
Undergraduate members: any under-graduate student with
background in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Psychology. Current
facilitators include: Cathie del Valle, Maya Eugene, Charles Gagliano, Cassandre
Joseph, Fabiola Jovica, Rafael Ramirez, Hilary Sweeney, and Daniel York.
