Frequently Asked Questions

What is the intent to apply deadline?  Can I still apply/contact Dean De Stefanis if I miss the intent to apply deadline?

The intent to apply deadline serves to notify Dean De Stefanis that you are interested in working with her on your scholarship or fellowship application.

You many still contact Dean De Stefanis and/or submit an application after the intent to apply deadline has passed.  Be sure to submit all completed materials to Dean De Stefanis on or before the campus deadline.

Why is the campus deadline before the actual deadline?

Two reasons: (1) This helps to ensure that each student receives the time and attention required to generate the strongest possible application and (2) some scholarships require an earlier campus deadline, particularly those requiring institutional endorsement.

Can I submit an application on my own?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no.  Some scholarships require institutional endorsement or that the named representative from Manhattanville submit the application.  If you are not sure, check with Dean De Stefanis.

Are the scholarships only for students who attend graduate school at Manhattanville College?

No.  Scholarships can be applied to graduate study at other institutions.

Are scholarships only for graduate school?

Many of the scholarships are for graduate studies, which may also include professional studies (i.e. law school, medical school, dental school, etc). (link to general info page). Listings for undergraduate scholarships can be found on the scholarships & fellowships website (link to undergraduate scholarships).

I am in the 5 year program – am I eligible?

It depends on the scholarship. Be certain to read the scholarship’s website very carefully.

How many scholarships can I apply for?

There is no limit to the number of applications you may submit; however, you may be limited in how many you may accept.  Some scholarship foundations may ask you to report other awards.
