AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY (ACS)
SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Purpose:   

To support African American, Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian students seeking to pursue undergraduate college degrees in chemical sciences and chemical technology 

Fields of Study:

Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering

Eligibility: 

To qualify, a candidate must:  

  1. be African-American, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian
  2. be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  3. be a full-time undergraduate student
  4. be a high academic achiever in chemistry or science with a GPA of 3.0 or better
  5. demonstrate evidence of financial need according to FAFSA and SAR
  6. be a college freshman, sophomore, or junior intending to or already majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or a chemically-related science and planning a career in the chemical sciences or chemical technology.  * Students intending to enter pre-med programs or pursuing a degree in either Medicine or Pharmacy are not eligible for this scholarship.

Award:  

Awards are up to $2,500 for freshmen and up to $3,000 for sophomores, juniors, and seniors per academic year.
