JACK KENT COOKE 2007 SCHOLARSHIP


Purpose: 

The Jack Kent Cook Graduate Scholarship program aims to identify and financially assist extraordinary individuals intent on pursing a first graduate or professional degree.

Fields of Study:

            Any first graduate or professional field of study is acceptable.

Eligibility: 

To qualify, a candidate must:

1)      be nominated by Manhattanville College (up to 2 nominees invited)

2)      be a current student with senior status or be a recent graduate (since May 2002) of an accredited U.S. college or university

3)   have a Bachelor's degree by the start of fall 2007

4)      have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale

5)      plan to attend a full-time graduate or professional degree program in fall 2007.  This must be the first graduate degree the candidate has ever pursued. 

Award:  

  • The award covers a portion of educational costs, including tuition, room and board, books and other required fees for the length of the approved graduate degree program, up to six years.
  • Awards vary depending on the cost of attendance and the length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received.
  • The maximum award available per student is $50,000 per year.
  • Scholars may use the award to attend any accredited graduate school in the US or abroad.
  • The Foundation renews awards annually, provided the scholar has maintained high academic performance, exhibited good conduct, made significant progress towards a degree, and complied with the Foundation's administrative requirements.
