Purpose:
To increase the pool of and opportunities for qualified minority and female candidates in intercollegiate athletics through postgraduate scholarships. Fields of Study:
Any field of study is acceptable Eligibility:
To qualify, a candidate must: 1. be seeking admission or have been accepted into a sports administration or related program that will help the applicant obtain a career in intercollegiate athletics, such as athletics administrator, coach, athletic trainer or other career that provides a direct service to intercollegiate athletics 2. be a full-time student at all times while receiving the scholarship and must not have begun any initial postgraduate studies 3. have performed with distinction as a student-body member at their undergraduate institution 4. be a U.S. citizen Award: $6,000 award, to be used toward full-time enrollment in a sports related postgraduate degree program at an academically accredited NCAA member institution during the 2006-07 academic year. The NCAA awards 13 scholarships to ethnic minorities and 13 scholarships to female college graduates who will be entering their initial year of postgraduate studies. Three additional scholarships are awarded to students who have completed undergraduate study at a Division III institution for both scholarships. Campus Deadline:
