UNITED STATES ARMY
HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Purpose:
To
provide financial assistance for young men and women pursuing careers as
Physicians, Dentists, Optometrists, Veterinarians, Clinical Psychologists, or
Nurse Anesthetist.
Fields of Study:
Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry,
Veterinary Medicine, Clinical Psychology, Nursing
Eligibility:
To qualify, a candidate must:
1)
be
a U.S. citizen
2)
be enrolled in or have received a letter of acceptance from an accredited
graduate program in the U.S.
or Puerto Rico.
3)
demonstrate
good moral character
4)
meet the eligibility criteria for appointment as a commissioned officer in the
United States Army Reserve.
5)
maintain status as a full-time student for the entire length of the program.
Award:
If
selected, the Army pays:
-
100% of tuition to any accredited professional school in the United States and
Puerto Rico.
-
for required books, rentals of non-expendable equipment and most academic
fees.
-
a monthly stipend of $1,319 for ten and one-half months of each school year.
