ACCESS TO THE LIBRARY BUILDING
The library serves the academic needs of the Manhattanville College community. We  provide limited privileges to affiliates, members and the public. The library's extended hours apply to Manhattanville College ID holders only.
After 8 PM, you must have your Manhattanville ID card in order to enter the building.

All others are permitted to use the library until 8 PM or our regular closing time, whichever comes first.

BORROWING
All Manhattanville College students, faculty, staff may borrow materials from the Library by presenting a valid College I.D. card at the Circulation Desk.

Alumni of Manhattanville College and adult members of the community can purchase a membership, including limited borrowing privileges, at the Circulation Desk.  Please call us at 914-323-5275 to arrange an appointment to come to campus and join the library or have us mail you an enrollment form.  

Membership fees for alumni and community members are:  

New graduates (2005 and later)- $35 
Alumni (2004 and earlier)- $75 
All others (Community membership)- $125

Memberships are valid through December 31 of the current calendar year.  


LOAN PERIODS
Please note that periodicals, microfilm, and reference materials do not circulate.

Books in the General Circulating Collection:
Students: 28 days
Faculty: end of semester
Staff: 28 days
Alumni: 28 days

Books and Audiovisual materials on Reserve for a course: 
3 hours; in-library use only

**Audio Cassettes; Compact Discs (CDs); Videos; DVDs; Phonograph Records not on Reserve for a course:
**Available to Manhattanville Students, Faculty and Staff only
3 days


RENEWALS
Items may be renewed online by following these instructions, or in person. Limits are placed on the maximum times each item can be renewed.
No Telephone Renewals will be accepted.


OVERDUE FINES
To guarantee access to library materials the following overdue fines are in effect.

Please note that a replacement charge and processing fee will be automatically added to these figures for lost, damaged and long-overdue items.  After items are returned the replacement charge and processing fee will be cleared, leaving the borrower responsible for the late charge only.

Books in the General Circulating Collection:
Students, Staff, Members, Alumni, Special Borrowing Groups
Fine Rate:  $0.50 per day
Maximum late fine per book:  $25.00

Books and Audiovisual materials on Reserve for a course:
Fine Rate:  $1.00 per hour
Maximum late fine per item:  $50.00

**Audio Cassettes; Compact Discs (CDs); Videos; DVDs; Phonograph Records not on Reserve for a course:
**Available to Manhattanville Students, Faculty and Staff only
Fine Rate:  $5.00 per day
Maximum late fine per item:  $15.00

Fines are payable by cash or personal checks only. Payment can be made at the Circulation Desk during normal business hours.  Questions, inquiries or concerns can sent by email to the Circulation Department or by phone at (914) 323-5275.


PHOTOCOPY AND FAX FACILITIES
The Library has 3 photocopy machines located on the main level of the library near the Circulation Desk. The cost for black and white copies is 20 cents per copy; a color copier (coming soon) will charge 50 cents per copy. A copy card vending machine is located in the area for your convenience. 

A public Fax machine is located adjacent to the photocopiers.  Payment is by credit card only. 


MICROFORMS
Microfilm/Microfiche collections are available by request at the Circulation Desk, with viewing and printing equipment located in the room 210. The Circulation Desk staff can provide instruction on operation of readers. Information concerning the Microfilm/Microfiche collection is available at the Reference Desk.
