Rare Books and Manuscripts 

USE OF THE RARE BOOK AND MANUSCRIPTS ROOM

1. Please call for an appointment.

2. Complete a registration form before using the collection.

3. Briefcases, coats, or umbrellas must be checked with the librarian.  Pencils, note pads and laptop computers are permitted.

4. Food or drink, including water, is not permitted.

5. Photocopying and photography of rare materials is permitted at the discretion of the librarian.

6. Use pencils, not pens, for taking notes. 

7. Only three items may be requested at a time.  Collections stored in folders will be distributed three folders at a time.

8. Use book supports and weights as instructed by the librarian.

9. Avoid handling rare items as much as possible. Use cotton gloves as provided by the librarian.
