OPT Tracking Data

Once you have accepted either OPT or an OPT extension, you are required to report where you are living (an address) or any changes within 10 days of the change.  You are also required to report your supervisor's contact information or any changes in employer/employment.  You are required to find employment in your field or fields of study (major/minor).  If you are still locating a position - put Actively Seeking Employment (ASE) - if you go 90 days without employment in your major, your status will be terminated.  You are also allowed to report part-time volunteering (20 hours per week) in lieu of a job. Not reporting your data will only create problems for all parties.  Career Development will continue to work with your during this transitional time.  Any questions email us at oiss[at]mville.edu
